TSC Summit 2024 Sea Island, Georgia

The best work trip ever-explained!

Lunch by the pool?! Yes, please! In between sessions we snuck away and had so much fun enjoying beautiful Sea Island!

Lunch by the pool is fun, but what about the business side of things?!

To kick it off! Let’s define what “TSC and The Southern C” is..?

It’s “a resource for the entrepreneurial South, designed to offer a community of passionate female business owners.”

What is the mission of “The Southern C"?

“We #connectcollaboratecreate to #educateandempower female entrepreneurs in the South and beyond by fostering a welcoming community anchored in hospitality and by creating a supportive network of experts and entrepreneurs.”

Each year they have a summit in Sea Island, Georgia that brings business owners, tastemakers, creators and designers from all across the country to one central location. The community is unmatched and the speakers were AMAZING!

Hearing the current owner of The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach speak was amazing. She bought The Colony a few years ago with her husband and turned it into a “pink paradise!” If you have followed along on the Recruitment Ready instagram for a while, you know I lived in Palm Beach in 2023. Hearing Sarah speak was such a full circle moment for me!

I also really enjoyed hearing from Lydia Fenet who wrote one of my favorite books about confidence building called “Claim Your Confidence!”

I personally attended The Southern C so that I could learn from experts in a variety of fields so that I could connect and collaborate in a way that brings innovative opportunities to my clients!

I also wanted to get out of my comfort zone and meet new friends. This gave a unique opportunity to meet inspiring women from across the country.

I am constantly encouraging my Recruitment Ready girls to get out of their comfort zone…so naturally I wanted to do the same to make sure I am “practicing what I preach.”

The connections made and the community built last week were so fun. Nothing compares to quality time with like-minded girls all pursuing their own goals!

We enjoyed yummy meals together! Notes on Sea Island dining…

1.) Every single meal at Sea Island is tasteful so it really doesn’t matter where you dine!! I personally love Southern Tide (at the beach club) and Tavola (inside the Cloister).

2.) It’s also fun to grab a morning smoothie at the workout center near the tennis courts.

Personal fun fact: I got engaged here in 2020! Any college girls reading this that have given up on finding “the one”….hang in there! I met my now husband senior year of college at Auburn!

Here is a link to some of the outfits I wore this week! A lot of what I wore has already sold out, but I linked similar options….

Keeping it real, it’s tiring networking all week long so there were many morning with coffee and cozy PJS. Lila and Hayes (female founded brand based in Texas) kindly gifted me these adorable pajamas. Check out their website if you are in the market for a new pair!

The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands!

Final take away from my time at The Southern C Summit….

Girls, you can do hard things, try new things, travel, make mistakes, meet new people, celebrate old friends, be whoever you want to be and create the experience you want for yourself.

It will NOT be easy, but it will always be worth it!

Love,

Leighton
